希望笔记 H.O.P.E's Notes 32 - Lai Fu 来福

“Life can be so hard, when survival is your only destiny and hope is your only friend. Hope to keep you going another day, hope to stay alive another day … I count myself lucky for I have seen many moons already and so many of my friends have come and gone. Starvation, disease, abuse, reckless drivers are the harbingers of death that have claimed all my friends life and I wonder when it will be my turn … The shadow of death is always hovering above me, silently watching and waiting … will it be this day that I meet my maker?”

This is Lai Fu. On one rainy afternoon, we saw him when we were passing by Taman Universiti. He was very thin and malnourished. He was walking alone in the cold weather. It was truly amazing that he was able to survive this long with his pitifully thin frame and protruding ribs. As we walked closer towards him, we were shocked to see something in red protruding from his butt. It was his bowel. The sight filled us with horror and it was heart wrenching to see the weak and agonized look on his face. We sensed the urgency of the situation, we quickly rushed him to the vet clinic.

A kind lady told us that everytime after Lai Fu had eaten some food, he would diarrhea. The persistent of diarrhea had leads Lai Fu’s bowel to protrude. During the treatment, Dr. Lee tried to clean and stuff back his bowel. Lai Fu was such a great boy and never cry out in pain or growling when he received his medical treatment. Perhaps he knows we are here to help him. According to Dr. Lee, Lai Fu’s digestive system was very weak and malnourished. He couldn’t absorb the nutrients that he had eaten to his body. We couldn’t imagine that how he would able to survive in such a terrible state.

Currently, Lai Fu is discharged from vet clinic and transferred back to HOPE shelter after receive few days of his medical treatment. Due to persistent diarrhea, Lai Fu’s might get tie-off knot at his bowel. If his bowel still protruding then he might need to undergo an operation to sew back his bowel.

There are far too many stray animals in need like Lai Fu and we never stop our rescue mission to save their life, we sincerely wish that you would never stop your help and support for them too. Please kindly contribute to us to help Lai Fu and enable us to have more ability to save more animals that are in need. Contributions can be made payable through:

H.O.P.E's Notes 31 - LADY GAGA + MADONNA

Say Hi to this two pup - LADY GAGA and MADONNA! We first saw their mother begging for food at a Mamak stall at Taman Seri Yaakob and being chased away by the worker. She looked extremely hungry, thin and malnourished. We offered her a meal and decided to include her in our TNR programme (Trap-Neuter-Release) and also be her caregiver to feed her.

The next day when we returned to the same place to find the dog but she is no where to found. Instead we saw a small puppy, less than a month old lying on the shop houses’ corridor there alone in the cold night! The scene is very weird and immediately we get down the car to check on the puppy’s situation. We fed him with can food and he ate it very quickly, we bet he had been hungry for quite long. He had very bad skin problem and soon two ladies approached us, and the story goes........ These ladies are workers from nearby shophouses and they knows the mother dog which they name her David. They fed david whenever they have some leftover and David always sleep outside their shop during day time. According to them, this puppy belongs to the mother dog, David brought this puppy here this afternoon and they do not have an idea why she left her puppy here. David did pregnant few times before and unfortunately whenever she went to the mamak stall to beg for food the people there will kick her and beat her which also caused her miscarriage. This is a typical pathetic life of a female stray dog.

We were shocked to know that the 1 month old puppy belong to the mother dog as she doesn't look like she just gave birth months ago, she looks so malnourished and we wondered even she had enough milk to provide to her poor pups!! The kind ladies do not see her other pups and we are guessing the other pups might dead due to the bad weather this few days. However, they've agreed to temporary foster the pup for 3-4 months.

The next day we returned hoping to spot the mother dog, David and surprisingly saw her feeding another 3 pups at the corner of the street. We are happy to know that her other pups survived but meanwhile our heart sank as the shelter couldn't afford to have any more new puppies in. The 3 puppies are having million of lices running on their head and body and they have skin problem too due to the dirty environment they stay. Some people around us told us that the mother dog brought the pup to the rubbish bin when she looked for food there.

Lady Gaga and Madonna was two among the puppies and the other pup adopted by a lady on the spot. We spent over 1 hour to bath them with medicated solution to clear the lices as all the vet clinics were closed that time. The mother dog had been trapped last week and will be arranged for spaying this few days. Lady Gaga and Madonna are getting improvement on their skin and will open for adoption when they are ready.

Why spend thousands on buying pets?? Millions of stray pups like Lady Gaga and Madonna come to this world every year. Some were fortunate enough to survive, but most of the little ones die of starvation, diseases, physical abuse, accidents and most inhumanely, ended up in human’s stomach, before even get to see the humane side of the world.

ADOPTION IS FOR LIFE.

H.O.P.E's Notes 30 - ROMEO + JULIET

His name is Lou Pak, meaning old Uncle in Cantonese. He looks healthy and strong as seen from the picture and you must be wondering why he was sent to the shelter. Pls continue with the story of him below to find out why...

A lady from Ipoh made a report that she and her neighbours wanted this dog, Lou Pak to die because he had bitten the passerby. They made every effort to kill this dog, for example by using chopper to physically hurt him, they also called the municipal dog catcher to shoot him down. Despite all these cruelty actions done on him, Lou Pak survived. Even when HOPE's volunteers were there to rescue the dog, someone from the neighbourhood said:" Why bother to save the dog? It is so much a simpler job to shoot him down!" Can you imaging that the child of that guy is standing right beside him when he said that? What kind of role model that he is showing to his child? It is sad to say that animal rights in Malaysia didn't receive the deserving attention from the general public and the relevant authorities. To most Malaysian, the easiest and most convenient solution to strays is to call the local municipal council and wait for the team of dog catchers to "clean" the neighbourhood for them. Take a moment to ponder. What makes you different from a murderer? Imagine what would a child be when he grows up with the mindset thinking that this is not wrong to abuse animals or kill them!

Dog bite doesn't mean they are mad. It's a way that they protect themselves from danger. Stray dogs may be abused, starved, chased and provoked by people and they are not given an opportunity to socialize with humans or other dogs. They can be wary and aggresive when approached. Their reaction is similiar to that of abused, neglected and isolated children, who may violently attack at people when they attempt to remove them from an abusive situation. It takes patience, time and therapy to nurture trust and rehabilitate both children and animals who have suffered in an abusive, neglectful environment. Society does not blame an abused child for the mistreatment by a parent or guardian, but there are those who want to ban the entire dogs because of the behaviors they exhibit following abuse by their owners and the publics. Lou pak had never felt the human kindness before. He was traumatized and weary of humans.

The whole rescue took about 2hrs after several attempts to catch him as his vigilance towards us increased. We finally managed to catch him by assistance from a neighbour. The poor Lou Pak tried everything he can to run away from us as he thought that we were there to hurt him. Looking into his eyes, it is clear that he is not a crazy dog but a clever and loyal dog.

An interesting gossip to share: Lou Pak is attached! There was this female dog that always stood right by him and she didn't run away and leave Lou Pak behind although she was also very afraid of our presence. We decided to take both of them back to shelter and not to set them apart because her gesture of love for Lou Pak won our hearts. We believe that Lou Pak will become a friendly dog that welcome your visit to HOPE's shelter. What he needs is a second chance, to learn to have positive human contact and to learn how to be loved!

Dogs have been used for hundreds of years to serve people in war, search and rescue, therapy and to complete our homes as companions and members of the family. H.O.P.E believes that we owe it to these wonderful animals to be love and care for in return. We hope you will help us in our mission to end the needless killing of millions of animals, and to continue our companion education program, so our greater community can become a more informed, responsible and caring society. If you are just like us who love the animals, please spread the seeds of love to everyone who are beside you. Anyone who had encountered dog bite incident, please do not solve it by killing. Please contact your local animal welfare group in your district to solve the problem. Killing is not the ONLY option. They deserve a second chance in their live.

After Lou Pak and his wife stayed in the shelter, we've decided to change their name to ROMEO AND JULIET. Juliet is adapting her life well and extremely happy living in the shelter with her new friends. Romeo is still fear to human but believe us, what he need is time, patience and love. Soon, he will be friendly and loving like any other dog. Do drop by to say hello to Romeo and Juliet when you are in HOPE! ;)

** Please kindly read our case study below

在lou pak及太太住进希望护生园后,我们决定为他们改名为罗密欧与朱丽叶。朱丽叶目前非常适应希望护生园的群体生活,也表现得非常开心兴奋交了这么多朋友。罗密欧依然对人类保持距离,但是请相信我们,他需要的是时间,耐心与爱。相信不久的将来他会和其他狗狗一样那么友善乖巧。记得来希望护生园时探望这对罗密欧与朱丽叶哦! ;

** 请往下阅读我们的真实案例

Romeo is still fear to human but believe us, what he need is time, patience and love.

Case study: Rantai was found with a locked, heavy metal chain on his neck. We do not know neither how long the dog had been locked with the chain and roamed on the street nor who did this disgusting act to this poor doggy. Rantai attacked and bit while the volunteer was trying to rescue him from the street. But we believe that it is the continuous chaining that caused him to become neurotic, anxious and aggressive. But after long period of socializing with people and he is already acquainted with HOPE's workers. He likes and loves dealing with people now. What a breakthrough for this boy!

We are extremely grateful to Mr.Cheah and volunteer from Ipoh to help in the rescue action....thank you!!

Juliet is adapting her life well and extremely happy living in the shelter with her new friends.

Case study: Jofi, an unsterilized Golden Retriever. He is irascible and will even bite his owner. Long-term chaining is the main reason to his bad temperament. Jofi also bit HOPE's worker at the stomach when the worker first handled him. But after neutering surgery and regular interaction sessions e.g. jogging with workers and volunteers, Jofi has become a loving and sweet personality dog.

希望笔记 H.O.P.E's Notes 28 - The fighter - Xiao Qiang 生命战士-小强

Another sad and horrible case that we’ve encountered!

This poor little dog named Xiao Qiang was found by a kind hearted lady two days ago behind a staircase. He had two huge wounds on his two hind legs. Red raw flesh were exposed and bone can been seen. Furthermore, one of his eye was blind. He was in very bad condition – extremely thin and miserable. Obviously he had not eaten any food for a long time.

Xiao Qiang was rushed to the vet clinic immediately. After an immediate examination and x-ray, the vet found out he had multiple wounds such as both of his hind legs and pelvis were broken. He also had fractures on his ribs and had severe virus infection on his hind legs. It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform that one of Xiao Qiang’s leg had been amputated. Left with no choice, we had to do so in order to save him. He also had severe muscle atrophy on his hind legs that caused him unable to straighten his legs and unable to move with his both hind limbs. He had the high possibility that another of his leg might be amputated. Could Xiao Qiang be able to stand and walk again? We really couldn't tell...we had to hold back our tears when we saw his severe wound and saw him moaning in pain after the surgery, suffering all the plights with his small and thin body..He is just a very young puppy which is not more than 1 year...

At this point of time, we are certain many will ask, why not put poor Xiao Qiang down and end his suffering? We were faced with a tough decision, but our utmost priority was – will Xiao Qiang still have a quality life if we choose to keep him? On top of all these considerations, if we eventually choose to keep him, we will have to be responsible for him for the rest of his life and take charge to provide him with the best that we can.

What happened to Xiao Qiang?

According to the vet, his wounds was caused by a horrible accident. It is estimated that he had suffered from tremendous pain for more than two weeks. No one is willing to help him or take a glimpse at him. Until this kind lady eventually saw him and willing to help him. We couldn’t imagine what will happen to Xiao Qiang if no one gets to see him. It is sad to comment on our society and ourselves that animals have to be severely injured before we are aware of their existence and before we are prepared to help.

How You Can Help?

Please help us help Xiao Qiang, as his medical bills within this 3days already costs us RM 2229 and the bills might run up to a hefty sum especially if surgery is required for another hind leg. Do write in to hopes_jb@live.com if you can help him in any way, big or small. You have a choice as to whether to help him with a second chance in life.....

希望笔记 H.O.P.E's Notes 26 - Little Cow Boy 小牛仔

We must save the dog!!! The dog disappeared when we wanted to save her and we realized that the poor little dog had been chased away by a restaurant owner because he was afraid that the stray dog might affect his business. Our heart ached and wondered how she would without food and open wound.

The scorching heat was beating down on the dog. It was lying down, uncertainty and fear in its eyes. Luckily, we spotted her at a distance while searching for her. We approached the dog with food but it quickly hid under the car, probably afraid we might hurt her. The dog was starving but refused to eat because she was too afraid of us. It was a white and black coloured mongrel and had severe skin disease on his body. She was thin and dirty. Finally, we caught her after a long coaxing but she was still very wary of us. We named her Little Cow Boy. We brought Little Cow Boy to the vet to be examined. The vet treated her wounded neck and body. We could feel how painful she is when the vet was trying to clean her wound. Little Cow Boy is about 2 years old. A kind hearted lady named Chris had also kindly paid for Little Cow Boy's medical bill on this visit.

Little Cow Boy is still waiting to be sterilized. We would like to appeal to the public to help in any way you can.

Lastly, we would like to encourage people who wish or planning to own a dog as a pet, you don't have to spend lots of your money to buy a pedigree dog. Please give our local mongrels a chance to have a home. Owning a dog is not about status, it's a friend for life, a loyal friend that would stay and listen to you when you are feeling down and wriggled its tail to share your joy when you are feeling happy. Trust us, stray dogs may not be as gorgeous as some pedigree dogs but when comes to loyalty, we can assured you that our local breeds doggies are as loyal as or even more loyal than others. If you know of anyone who is interested to adopt or sponsor her, please write to us at hopes_jb@live.com.my. Do help us spread the word around!

Stay tuned to Little Cow Boy's recovery...

H.O.P.E's Notes 25 - Chocolate

MAYBANK Account: 5012-0808-5710
PERSATUAN PERLINDUNGAN DAN PELIHARAAN HAIWAN TERBIAR SKUDAI

When stray feeders see injured animals, they cannot turn a blind eye to it and pretend nothing has happened. The injury will only worsen with the harsh and dirty conditions they live in, and it is painful to see them suffering helplessly. Though worrying, stray feeders acknowledge that they cannot afford to bring every single injured animal to the vet. For minor injuries, most stray feeders resort to self-medication to treat the injury before it worsens or gets infected with maggots. Nonetheless, there will definitely be times whereby a vet visit is inevitable, given the complexity or seriousness of the injury. Here’s the story goes.......

She’s an obedient and good girl, but she has severe skin problem and a big wound on her stomach. She is wandering around Southern College at Taman Impian Emas Johor Bahru, Malaysia, but no one notice her. There are people walking around in and out but no one seems to care for her. Because to them, they are just one of the homeless animals that are dirty, in a bad condition and a normal mongrel who wandered around the streets every day. But one day, a kind-hearted girl changed her life…

Yuki is a student in Southern College and also one of the HOPE volunteer. We are touched and grateful that she is willing to take the responsibility to take care of the dogs. She is the only person who noticed the injured dog, fed her every day, applies medication on the wound, and eventually named her “Chocolate”. But her condition never gets better so she anxiously seeks the help of HOPE and at last Chocolate is rushed to the vet clinic.

Besides Chocolate, there is a mother dog, two young doggies and an adult dog that have been spayed by HOPE several years ago. Among them, three suffered from severe skin infections. HOPE is sending them for spaying and to undergo medical treatments before releasing them back to the college. But with Yuki’s power only, things get tougher. She’s trying her best to raise funds among students in Southern College to cover the medical bills and daily food supplies for the dogs. But we need more combined efforts and team to take care of the dogs and at the same time, spreading the ideas of loving homeless animals. If you are one of the students in Southern College, or if you have a friend from there, please do not hesitate to join us. Start spreading your love in the college; make a difference to these 5 dogs, and give strays animals a new life.

When the rescue team arrives at the college, they approached several students to find out where is the injured dog and told them they are going to rescue her. Instead of showing some concerns towards the dogs, they asked the team to take away all the dogs there as well and ask them not to bring the dogs back to the college anymore. PLEASE DON’T SAY THINGS LIKE THAT and please don’t act this way even if you do not like dogs. We just don’t understand why they treat those dogs like pest? All the campus dogs are well-behaved, tame and obedient. All they ask for is just some food to keep them survive and a safe environment to live in. Why do people love to disturb them and never let them have a single day of peacefulness?

Therefore, we need a dedicated team in Southern College with the mission to educate and spread the concept of caring for homeless animals. They need to learn how to love them, because they are just same with us, they are a LIFE! Never ever look down on every single life because every life deserves an equal right.

We hope that someone out there will be able to provide a home for the dogs and puppies! If you are interested to find out more about the dogs and puppies, view or adopt them, please email us at hopes_jb@live.com.my.

For all of you reading this story and moved by their plight, please know that they are not the only ones out there. There are MANY MANY more puppies, unsterilized mummies, living out there and no one knows they exist. They only appear during the night because during daylight, their safety and lives are often threatened by humans, heavy vehicles and machinery, due to the surroundings they live in. Please support our sterilizing project so that we may sterilize more stray dogs, and prevent more unwanted and unnecessary births.

If you are willing to play a part in helping the dogs, you can help them by donating some funds for their medical fees (medical fees to cure skin problems, spay fees and vaccination). Please bank-in the amount to:

MAYBANK Account: 5012-0808-5710
PERSATUAN PERLINDUNGAN DAN PELIHARAAN HAIWAN TERBIAR SKUDAI

And, please indicate that your sum of donations is for the campus dogs so that it’s easier for us to calculate the total amount raised for them. Thanks for willing to help in making changes in their life!

希望笔记 H.O.P.E's Notes 24 - Kenko needs a wheelchair!!

Kenko
1.Middle of hip till the floor:38 cm
2.Middle of shoulder till the floor:36cm
3.Length between middle of hip and middle of shoulder:39cm
4.Chest girth behind front legs:57cm
5.Girth of upper hind leg:27cm
6.Width of hips(straight, not curved ):13cn
7.Width of hips(straight, not curved ):13cm

Kenko needs a wheel chair for the rest of his life!! Please show your love and compassionate heart to Kenko to provide mobility to him. By dragging his hind leg on the ground may caused wounds and inflammations. Please consider to sponsor him a wheel chair. It is a custom made wheel chair specially for Kenko and it cost 275 Euro and the transport fees to Malaysia cost 50 Euro. After conversion rate, it cost about RM1400+.

To take a practical approach apart from the monetary issues always plaguing animal rescue work, rescuers need to be clear-headed enough at that very moment to analyze the situation from all angles, to determine whether the animal will be able to cope with his disability, or are they just prolonging his life for selfish reasons? On top of all these considerations, if we eventually choose to keep him, we will have to be responsible for him for

the rest of his life and take charge to provide him with the best that we can.

The size of Kenko's wheel chair
1.Middle of hip till the floor:38 cm
2.Middle of shoulder till the floor:36cm
3.Length between middle of hip and middle of shoulder:39cm
4.Chest girth behind front legs:57cm
5.Girth of upper hind leg:27cm
6.Width of hips(straight, not curved ):13cn
7.Width of hips(straight, not curved ):13cm
8.Width of shoulders( straight, not curved ):16cm
9.Girth of abdomen directly before the hind legs:41cm

The wheels give him a chance to stand up once again.

Has the world turned and left me here? (24-06-2011)

// 希望笔记由希望护生园志工队所撰写,里面记录了执行拯救任务时所面临的难题,真实情况及解决方案等。谨在此申明希望笔记言论并不代表希望护生园立场 //

/// 我们在此想特别感激看珍的Dr.Lee及工作人员, 愿意在放工时间后留下来替Helios做紧急护理,谢谢!!!! ///

Dog rescue, a race against time:

On the evening of 22/6/2011, the volunteers from HOPE received report of an injured dog lying at the shoulder of a busy road. Volunteers rushed down to the place with wings on their feet and spotted a dog lying on the roadside, simply too weak to move. Cars whizzed by, but no one stopped to help. There are a few pubs nearby; people are having fun under the glitzy light, flashing neon and alcohols. But their merriment doesn't come around us…

It was a heart-wrenching sight; the left eyeball of the dog fell out of socket! And a thick layer of ropy mucus covers the popping out right eyeball! He tried standing up fighting for life but he can't do it with his weak and skinny body. Not to waste time, the volunteers quickly lift him up to the car and rushed to the animal clinic as the clinic will be closing in 40mins time.

The team managed to reach just 10 mins before closing! After series of emergency treatment and examination, it is confirmed that both eyes of the dog are blind. The biting of other dogs on the face and eye area caused the left eyeball to be pushed out of its socket. Scars covered the face and entire body of the dog.

This is an old dog, which we don’t know how long he has been wandering the streets and fending for himself. Looking at him reminds us of another blind dog that we have saved last time. Blind dog is unable to live in HOPE’s shelter; he needs a safe environment and extra care for a quality life. HOPE did rescue an abandoned, old-aged Pomeranian from the roadside before. She is blind and with mobility problems. This little sweetheart with the name of Piggy has crossed the rainbow bridge on April 2011. She has been living with HOPE’s person-in-charge, under her unconditional love and cares until the very last breath.

We named this dog “Helios”, the personification of the sun in Greek mythology. Although he has lost his eyesight and no longer able to see the light of this world but we believe that he can shine like a sun and live his life with pride! Also remember the saying “blind dogs see with their heart not their eyes”.

/// We would like to express our gratitude to Dr.Lee and the staff in the vet clinic who were willing to stay back after the working time to have emergency treatment to Helios, thank you!!!! ///

希望笔记 H.O.P.E's Notes 22 - Old Daddy 老爹 (15-06-2011)

// 希望笔记由希望护生园志工队所撰写,里面记录了执行拯救任务时所面临的难题,真实情况及解决方案等。谨在此申明希望笔记言论并不代表希望护生园立场 //

<老爹>

It's not an easy task for human being to survive in this concrete jungle. But we always have someone that we can turn to when we fall, be it friends or family. But what is the situation like for a stray that is living alone and was left in the streets to fend for himself?

This black, male dog is one of the many strays that are trying hard to survive in the busy industrial area of M'sia. He roams around the busy roads with passing trucks, lorries, buses etc. This is also the place where he called it home. He is shy and even a gentle touch will frighten him off. But if you call him with your open heart and love, he will happily wags his tail to greet you.

HOPE took in this boy on the 9 June 2011 from Tampoi industrial park, Johor Bahru. A kind-hearted Indian lady who is working nearby approached HOPE for help. As it is a heavy traffic area, this dog was nearly hit by trucks a few times according to the lady. He puts himself in a more dangerous position as he is easily frightened by car horns and he will runs aimlessly on the busy road. This dog also relies on the lady irregular feeding and he is an old aged dog with skin problem.

We also realized that he is not alert to cars movement as of some strays are. It is really fortunate that he is unhurt despite living in such environment. We named him OLD DADDY and he is the new member of HOPE now. If we don't take him in, he might be the victim of car crash the moment we left him behind.

He depends on us for his life. Are you willing to sponsor OLD DADDY on a monthly basis or go further to give him a new home? He is obedient and well behaved and desperate for love and care. Would you want to be his new master and savior?

H.O.P.E's Notes 21 - It's about Zoe 小Zoe的故事 (28-05-2011)

// 希望笔记由希望护生园志工队所撰写,里面记录了执行拯救任务时所面临的难题,真实情况及解决方案等。谨在此申明希望笔记言论并不代表希望护生园立场 //

Strays which live in industrial areas, call construction sites or factories their “home”. The luckier ones get fed by kind workers, whereas the rest will have to live on scraps and rubbish. Fights for food and/or territory are common in order to ensure their survival.

When I was travelling near Tampoi industrial area on one weekend afternoon, I noticed a group of stray dogs surrounded a little black thing. I immediately stopped the car and alighted to take a look.

There it was, lying in the middle of the road, a little black dog. I started to get panic, is the dog dead? When I walked nearer to the dog, I found out that the dog is still breathing but she had a huge infected wound on her front leg and very severe skin disease. She looked tired and one can tell she was weak from her injury as the wound was there for a quite long period. A slow and painful death will have been awaiting her, if she was not discovered, as the wound had already got infected and might cause her to die. We could tell from her eyes that she wanted us to stop her misery. Immediately, we sent her to the vet.

While waiting for the vet, I called Aunty Jia Jia. Without hesitating, Aunty Jia Jia quickly rushed to the vet’s clinic. Aunty Jia Jia hugged the dog tightly. She did not even bothered that the dog skin disease might pass on to her. The vet discovered that the dog had severe trichocryptosis. Her wounds had started to inflame and had severe virus infection. If the wound on her leg is getting severe then her leg has to be amputate. She was named Zoe, hoping that she could recover faster and let us see her beautiful face once more.

Before leaving the vet’s clinic, a kind lady rushed out and gave us RM50 for Zoe’s medical fees. We really grateful for her helped to Zoe. With just RM50, she gave Zoe a second chance in life.

Please help us help Zoe, as her medical bills might run up to quite a hefty sum especially if surgery is required for her leg. Do write in to hopes_jb@live.com if you can help her in any way, big or small. These industrial dogs do not have a choice to where they are born in, but you have a choice as to whether to help them with a second chance in life.

This has always left us wondering why are people indifferent to the suffering of the injured animal – is it due to ignorance, or because he is just one of the many strays they see daily on the road, where no one bothers about their existence and life or death? “The street is not their home”.
