Rescue Case 拯救案子 - Rebeta

有些人觉得狗是玩具，玩腻了就扔掉，但他们是有感情的生命，把我们视为家人，希望大家在养狗前请三思，要么不养，要么就养到底，实在养不下去可以帮狗找新家，最起码不要抛弃!
Some people think that pet dogs are the equivalent to toys. Little do they know that these creatures are full of life, and they have feelings too, just like us. To them, we are their family. Please think this through thoroughly, you either don’t have them or you have them for the rest of their lives. It’s a serious commitment and abandoning is not an option.

Rebeta是前印裔主人搬迁后的弃狗，最近她在维修中的店屋产下2只狗宝宝，因护子的天性使她连续咬伤10多人，被咬的居民当中有人已报警，并也举报打狗队，但是在打狗队还没出现捕捉Rebeta，居民们每次一见Rebeta就用木棍打压她，甚至商量好准备要拿铁支活活插死她!
Rebeta’s previous owner abandoned her when they moved away. Not long ago, Rebeta gave birth to 2 puppies in a shop house car workshop. Being a mother, rumour has said that her parental instinct kicked in and had bitten more than 10 people trying to protect the pups. Some of these people have already filed a police report and informed city hall as well – the department that will send dog catchers to deal with her. On top of that, whenever people in the neighbourhood saw her, they will hit her with wooden bats and try to scare her off, and some even suggested to kill her with iron rods by stabbing.

当我们一到Rebeta并没对我们发出攻击只是相当害怕逃跑，在拯救过程并不是很顺利，但我们深知她一定会復返，就算她不懂我们是好意恶意，但她肯定不会放弃孩子的妈妈。
However, when we arrived to rescue Rebeta, there was no sign of aggressiveness, she ran away because she was scared! It wasn’t a smooth rescue, though she went hiding, we were confident that she wouldn’t abandon her litter and will eventually return.

就这样我们由下午等至傍晚Rebeta终于心急前来找狗宝宝，我们急速将她包围但还是让她逃脱，心急的我们正讨论该如何后续救援，就在这时一对印裔夫妇出现手中拿着食物，Rebeta在远处一看到对方就兴奋摇着尾巴，于是我们在这对定时喂食Rebeta的印裔夫妻的帮忙下成功将Rebeta捕救。
We waited, from noon ‘til evening fall, Rebeta finally returned, looking worried, to find her puppies. We surrounded her to try to get her but she managed to slip away again. Just as we were still worried and at the same time trying to figure out how to capture her safely, an Indian couple appeared with food in their hands and we could tell that Rebeta was excited to see them because of the serious wiggle of the tail. We knew then that this was the couple that feeds her and with their help, we have successfully captured Rebeta.

如果Rebeta不幸被居民活活打死，那失去了妈妈，两只还没开眼的狗宝宝还能活下来吗？就算再不喜欢她，也不能剥夺她生存的权利!
If Rebeta was beaten to death, what will happen to her litter? They wouldn’t even stand a chance. Even if you don’t like her, please do not take away her right to live.

希望所有人都能爱护这些弱小动物，他们也不想流浪，如果不是主人抛弃，这样的事情就不会发生，反而是人类的不负责任给他们造成了及大的伤害!
We hope people can show compassion to these small animals, they don’t mean to become strays, things like this wouldn’t have happened if they weren’t abandoned. Human’s irresponsibility has brought upon them the greatest suffering.

Rescue Case 拯救案子 - Yi Yi

又是一宗惨遭不负责任的驾驶者撞了后就逃之夭夭!
It is another hit and run case happened. An irresponsible driver fled after a hit.

我们为那曾经抛弃您的主人感到羞愧，为那个撞伤您而又置您于不顾的司机感到耻辱，我们要让您知道这个世界还是有爱，有珍爱您的生命的人，我们仍继续坚持我们的理念，依旧不放弃每个无辜的生命。
We feel shame on the owners that abandoned you, and the irresponsible driver that hit and run. We will let you know, there are still love in this world. There are still someone that love you and care about you. We insists our philosophy, we are not going to give up any innocent lives.

她叫Yi Yi，今年2岁多，被一名妇女发现被车撞了，两条后腿完全不能动，经过照x-ray兽医确诊后，她脊椎神经已损坏，两条后腿已瘫痪!
Her name is Yi Yi, two years old. A woman found her been hit by car. At that moment, her both hind legs are totally not moveable. According to the X-ray scan, veterinary found out that her spinal cord is damaged, hence her both hind legs are paralyzed.

经过将近两个星期的留院治疗Yi Yi已促渐康复并回复精神，目前已出院并在负责人家中细心照顾中。
With two weeks of hospitalization. She has gradual recovered and gets better. Currently, she has been discharged from hospital and stay in our Jia Jia Auntie’s home. She gets great care from our Jia Jia Auntie.

Yi Yi是只相当坚定的狗儿，她经历抛弃又遇上可怕车祸，但她还是勇于面对每个生活的新起点。
She is a very tough girl, she being abandoned by her owner and experienced a terrible accident. She is survived, and now she is going to have her new life.

绝育手术对宠物而言是好的 Sterilization is good for Pet

绝育手术对动物而言是好的：绝育可避免动物因性挫折而制造各种问题，主人不会因那些问题而嫌弃宠物，进而有弃养的念头，因此绝育对动物而言绝对是好的。
此外，手术还可避免某些疾病的发生，如：子宫蓄脓、卵巢囊肿引起的疾病、性病、前列腺肿大等问题。一岁前即手术还可以避免乳房肿瘤发生的可能。性荷尔蒙会引起动物的不安，性挫折常见心理的不适应状况，包括：咬人、破坏家具或坏脾气等后果发生，绝育可帮助动物克服这些问题。绝育对动物而言，当然是 利多于弊。
Sterilization is good for animals: Neutering animals can help to avoid various problems caused by sexual frustration. Owners don’t have to get frustrated with the pets when their pets have health issues and eventually decides to abandon them. In other words, neutering is for the best of your pets.
Besides that, the surgery helps to prevent some disease, e.g. Pyometra, ovarian cysts, STD, prostate enlargement, etc. Neutering before your pet first birthday may even help in preventing breast cancer. Sex hormones will cause anxiety, it is very common for animals to become aggressive towards people or objects (attacking people, destroying your furniture or bad temperament). Neutering them would help to overcome these sorts or behavior hence it has more pros than cons, either to the animals themselves or to the pet owners.

未绝育动物的常见病：
1.子宫蓄脓：多数发生于7岁以上老狗，未绝育的老年母狗发生率相当高。此病往往刚发生时只有频渴频尿的症状，如果不是开放型流出大量分泌物，主人不会太注意。拖延久了，身体组织会因吸收细菌内毒素造成伤害，严重时引发肾衰竭，无法救治。流不出来的闭锁型子宫蓄脓会在子宫因碰撞或脓汁过多破裂时，引发腹膜炎，迅速致死。
此外，老狗、病狗麻醉风险大，手术及术后照顾也比正常的绝育费用高出很多，因此不打算让它繁殖的动物最好尽早绝育。
Common diseases found in animals especially dogs: -
1. Pyometra: it is often seen in senile bitch (more than 7 years old) that are not neutered. The symptoms could be as mild as increased drinking and urinating. The most obvious symptom of open pyometra is a discharge of pus from the vulva (in a Female) that has recently been in heat. However, symptoms of closed pyometra are less obvious and it can be easily missed. When the cervix is fully closed (closed pyometra), there is no discharge from the vulva, and like in appendicitis, the uterus may rupture and pus escapes into the abdomen, causing peritonitis and possible rapid death.
Besides, senile dogs and ill dogs are exposed to higher risks during anesthesia. The surgery itself (neutering) and postoperative care usually costs more than the normal need neutering (done when the dog is young and healthy). Therefore, if you have no intention in letting your dogs breed, you should make arrangement to neuter them ASAP.

2.子宫内膜炎：发情过后因荷尔蒙关系，子宫容易感染，临床可见少许的分泌物，可用药控制，但此种体制动物很容易变成子宫蓄脓感染的病例，手术切除是一劳永逸的解决办法。
2. Patients with endometriosis: After a bitch has been in heat, its uterus is very vulnerable to infection. Discharge from the vulva is often observed, which can be controlled with medications. However, this could lead to Pyometra, hence neutering is the permanent solution.

3.乳房肿瘤：未绝育的老年动物常见病，在狗约50%以上是恶性肿瘤。一旦发生，切除后再复发的机会相当高。据文献报道，这种病诱因与荷尔蒙有关，一岁以前绝育的动物几乎没有发生的可能。
3. Breast tumor: breast tumors often develop in senile animals. Approx. 50% found in dogs are cancerous. Even after removal of the tumor, the chances of reoccurrences are very high. According to literature, the production of estrogen has a lot to do with the formation of this type of tumors. Therefore, neutering your dogs before they turn one is a recommended solution.

4. 卵巢囊肿：动物会有持续性发情的现象，有些动物会有阴道增生的现象。开刀切除卵巢才能解决问题。
4. Ovarian Cysts: animals tend to go into heat frequently, sometimes continuously. Some animals may experience Vaginal hyperplasia. The removal of ovaries will solve this problem before it occurs.

5.性病：多数由交配而感染。由交配引起性器官感染、因舔到病变组织而口腔感染、由伤口接触而皮肤感染，由吸入组织而鼻腔感染，甚至由手术污染带入腹 腔……动物身上有血腥恶臭味，极不舒服。
5. Canine transmissible Venereal disease: majority of the disease are spread by sexual contact. The infections commonly came from mating, licking of diseased tissue could cause oral infection, through open wounds, through inhaling tissues that causes nasal infection, even contamination during surgery that causes abdominal infection… animals with this often smell very bad and they are in constant severe discomfort.

6.前列腺肿大：老年公狗常见的疾病，表现为腹痛、排尿困难、甚至血尿，治疗办法是绝育阻断雄性激素，让腺体自然萎缩。防止此病的发生，并杜绝前列腺肿瘤 发生的可能。
6. Prostate diseases: this disease is often found in senile male dogs. Symptoms include blood in the urine and straining to urinate and defecate. Neutering is the treatment recommended so that the androgens can be eliminated, causing the glands to atrophy naturally, preventing the disease and the development into prostate cancer.

7.假孕：有些母犬在发情过后会有泌乳、做窝现象，似乎已经怀孕即将产子。这是荷尔蒙不正常的一种病态反应。如经常发生，惟有绝育可以杜绝。
7. False pregnancy (pseudocyesis): is a common condition in female intact dogs. Symptoms include swelling of the mammary glands, lactation, not eating, and "mothering" small objects, indicating pregnancy and looking like the litter is due anytime soon. If this occurs frequently, neutering can help solve the problem.

8.睾丸肿瘤：隐睾未绝育的雄性动物上了年纪后，未下降到阴囊的睾丸常会变成肿瘤组织，而且隐睾本身有遗传性，因此建议给这类动物绝育。
8. testicular cancer: Senile dogs that have Cryptorchidism and not been neutered are prone to testicular torsion and testicular cancer, so these dogs should be castracted to prevent problems later. Also, dogs with Cryptorchidism must not breed.

绝育方式和注意事项: Ways of neutering and things to take note of: -

1.雄性动物：将睾丸切除，称之为去势手术(Castration) 　　
1.Male animals: removal of testicles, it is called Castration

2.雌性动物：将子宫卵巢完全切除(OHE) 　　
2.Female animals: a spay procedure where both ovaries and both uterine horns and a small portion of the uterine body is removed.

3.绝育适当时机：但只要是免疫已全部完成，身体无恙的情况下，都可以手术。 　　
3.The right time to do it: as long as the animal has been vaccinated and healthy

4.如果您已经决定了，请提前联系一家可靠的动物医院 。　　
4.If you have made your decision, please contact a veterinary clinic that you trust

5.安排一个您的工作不紧张，术后有时间照料的时间为您的宠物进行手术。　
5.Arrange a day when you do not have to be attending to work, and please make sure that you have the time to take care of your pet post-operation.

6.手术前需禁食禁水6-8小时，以免术中或术后呕吐时异物呛入呼吸道。　
6.The dog has to go on a 6-8 hours fasting time (no food, no water) prior to the procedure, to avoid suffocation during or after the procedure.

7.手术后不要急于让它进食，麻醉后肠胃蠕动慢，急于进食可能出现肠胃炎症状。　
7.Do not try to feed the dog immediately after the surgery. The digestive system does not respond well to food and food intake immediately after the surgery may cause Symptoms of gastroenteritis

8.手术后要限制过分剧烈的运动、爬楼梯、过度进食，伤口完全愈合(约需10-14天)前不要洗澡。
8.Heavy/serious exercise (incl. climbing up and down steps) & overfeeding right after the surgery should be avoided. It takes approx. 10-14 days for the wound to heal completely.

9.伤口愈合过程中，如发现伤口有血水渗出，可能是伤口崩开，要到医院复诊。
9.During the healing process, check frequently if there is redness, swelling or discharge. Please re-visit the veterinary immediately if you notice the above around the incision site – this could mean that the incision is open.

所以最有效停止残酷的事实发生，就在於您愿不愿意为您的宠物结扎，以减少流浪的猫狗，结扎是一项简单安全以及一劳永逸的手术。
Hence, the most effective way to prevent the worse to happen to your dog lies in your hands – whether or not you are willing to spay/neuter your pet determines the wellbeing of your beloved pet. Also, to prevent the increasing number of stray cats and dogs, spaying/neutering is the most effective way and the safest way.

因车祸导致下半身瘫痪的Sabri
The car accident happened on Sabri, caused him partial paralyzed..

你的一辈子可以有很多狗狗，但是狗狗一辈子只有你，你将他抚养长大，最后沦落到遗弃，试问又有谁，可以负责他剩余的半生？ 不是每一只狗狗都能遇到救助，遇到好心人的，你一个决定将可改变狗狗一生的恶运!!…
In your life, you may have lots of dogs as pets but in a dog's life, they only have you as their owner. You brought them up and ended up abandoning them. Who will be able to take up the responsibility of taking care of them for the rest of their lives? Not all dogs are so lucky to be able to be saved or helped by kind-hearted people. The decision lies in you to change the life of the dog to a nightmare!

狗狗被车碾过躺在马路血泊中挣扎，肇事车早已跑，狗狗虽然已奄奄一息但还能发出微弱的叫声，当场就有两个人拿了黑子袋要将狗狗打包埋尸，就在这时有名妇人发现狗狗泪眼汪汪，似乎是在哀求人们不要放弃他请救他，于是妇人火速抱起狗狗送至兽医所治疗!
This is Sabri that we met his on that day, he is so pitiful… Poor Sabri, due an accident which caused his to be paralyzed from bottom half of his body onwards. Both his legs are being crushed by a moving vehicle while he was resting at the bottom of the vehicle. Sabri struggled weakly and cried out for help while bleeding profusely, leaving a pool of blood on the floor. The vehicle did not put over to help but instead drove off without any grievance for Sabri. At the spot of the accident, two men rushed over thinking that Sabri did not have any chance of survival, wanted to put Sabri into a black trash bag and dump his as rubbish. It was fortunate that a good-hearted lady saw Sabri crying for help with tears rolling down from his face. As if begging for survival, Sabri hoped that the two men would give his a chance to live. Eventually, the lady rushed over and carried Sabri for treatment.

我们为狗狗取名为Sabri，兽医也告知Sabri今年才一岁多，经过照x-ray兽医确实，Sabri两条后腿骨头粉碎，后腿将永久瘫痪终生残废，由于Sabri严重虚弱和严重失血必须留院治疗。
Sabri was only one years old. After X-ray from the vet, he explains that both Sabri hind legs are crushed into pieces with no chance of treatment or recovery. He will be paralyzed for life. Due to Sabri being weak and lost too much blood, he had to be hospitalized for treatment.

经过将近三个星期的留院治疗Sabri已促渐康复并回复精神，目前已出院并在负责人家中细心照顾中。
After 3 weeks of treatment, Sabri was recovering well from the injury and was having more vitality as before. Currently he had been discharged from the clinic and is being taken care by his caretaker.

我们目前有超过1000++多只的流浪猫狗，尤其狗狗的食物消耗量非常惊人，我们一天内就需消耗30包15kg的狗粮，一个月就需消耗大概930包 15kg的狗粮! 一个月单单食粮就得花费超过三万块，食物是它们最基本的需求，而我们的团体无时无刻都在头疼着这笔庞大的开销，但是如果每一个人每一个月都愿意捐赠一包15kg的狗饼，我们的负担会减轻很多也可以有能力做更多的事...请大家伸出援手，一同为流浪动物出一份力!

We are currently sheltering over 1000++ homeless cats and dogs, we need a total of 30 bags of 15kg dog foods now to feed our doggies per day, a total of 930 bags of 15kg dog foods/month! We have to spend over RM30k per month for the expenses of food itself. Food is the basic needs of animals, our team is working really hard to get enough funds to cover the huge expenditure. BUT if each of you is willing to donate at least 1 bag of 15kg dog food per month, it can ease our burden and enable us to have more ability to do more for homeless animals, please help us to continue say “YES” to animals who need our help!

备注: 许多网友和访客问我们为何不自己煮食给护生园内的狗狗猫猫，因为这比较经济。
在此我们想说明以下几点为护生园喂食狗粮和猫粮的原因：
1. 依据护生园现有的环境和状况缺乏水电供应导致护生园内不适合煮食
2. 护生园庞大的猫狗数量高达逾1000多只，倘若一天煮食2餐将导致工人负荷不来剧增的工作量
3. 隔夜或剩余的熟食容易引来苍蝇等昆虫，这将导致护生园内的卫生恶化并且带来更多的猫狗健康问题
4. 狗粮猫粮比起米饭来得更有营养价值和成分

Remark: Many would ask why don't we cook for our dogs and cats as it is much cheaper and economical.
1. As our current shelter does not have electricity and water supply, it would be hard for us to cook for the animals.
2. It would be time consuming for our workers to cook for over 1000 animals twice a day.
3. Leftover rice and chicken will easily attract flies to come and it is not very hygienic too.
4. Dog food are more nutritious compare to rice.
