24/08/2012:Pica – A pitiful stray dog which was being
rescued by us today. A stray dog’s life not only has to face bully,
torture, hunt and kill by heartless human. But it still needs to fight
for survival among other strays too!Few days ago, a lady who is living
alone saw a stray dog which doesn’t move at all lying in front of her
house. She initially thought that the dog was just asking for food. She
gets some leftover rice to the dog, but she smelled a very stinking
smell from the dog when she gets near. She quickly brought the dog into
the house, but she was really shocked by the sense! The dog’s head was
having a very huge wound which the bone can be seen and there are
uncountable maggots swimming inside the wound too!!The lady doesn’t had a
transport to send the dog to vet. So she tried to treat the dog’s wound
by herself. She tried to catch and clear the maggots but hundred of
maggots cannot be fully cleared by her at all. The lady had no choice
but just simply treats the wound and left the dog at her house.After 2
days, the lady noticed that Pica starts to have no appetite. She took a
clearer look at Pica then only she realized that the wound had spread to
the throat. Pica’s throat was full of maggots too!! Due to no proper
treatment, knowledge and clean environment, Pica’s wound is badly
ulcerating!The lady is having very tight financial condition; therefore
she is asking help from HOPE. The volunteer immediately send Pica to the
vet clinic. After detail diagnosed, Pica’s neck had 2 deep wounds which
probably being bitten. Vet said; luckily Pica was sent to get the
proper treatment fast, otherwise Pica’s ulcerating wound might get
infection and cause side sickness which will take away Pica’s little
life.The lady who is living alone is asking HOPE to keep Pica. Because
she already had 7 dogs in her house. Furthermore, she has to work for 2
jobs in a day! She really not able to take care of Pica at all! We are
very sympathized with her condition. Though our shelter is congested,
but we still agree to keep Pica and provide him with proper treatment
and cares.We would like to take this opportunity to share a message
here. If your pet or you come across with any injured stray, please send
them to vet clinic without any doubts! Please don’t simply use any
traditional or your very own treatment to treat the injured animal!
After all, we are not vet; only the vet can provide proper and effective

now recuperating at Aunty Jia Jia home. Hope Pica gets well soon &

Pika also has become a handsome boy, and there is always have a lot of friends accompanied him, He is also a enthusiastic and warmly greeted us when we visit him:)
When you ever saw helpless wounded stray dogs that like Pika, you can pull out your helping hands rescue them and immediately send them to a nearby veterinary clinic for medical treatment .Please do not hesitate, because only you can be bringing back their precious life by helping them!!
