29/07/2013: Precious是两年前所拯救的毛孩，当时已7岁而却患有关节炎，因为饲主不想承担医药费和时间来照顾宁愿将她抛弃，可怜的Precious又不幸遭遇车祸，这双重打击，差点存活不下来!!!
我们目前还没为她找到适合的主人，Precious今年已9岁了非常需要一个家庭一个真正对她好，负责任及有爱心的主人， 由于Precious 是一只年迈的狗狗，也需要花更多时间甚至金钱去照顾她，她之前已经受了好多好多苦，我们希望她接下来的晚年的日子是充满安乐及幸福的。
许多人因为一时冲动而购买或选择领养名种狗狗，但是一旦出现问题时就选择狠心抛弃! 请不要因为她是名种狗狗才选择领养，养宠物是一个承诺，是一个责任，讲求一个真心。

29/07/2013: Precious is a furkid we rescued two years ago, she was already seven years old at the time of the rescue and was suffering from arthritis. Because her owner at the time did not want to bear the medical expenses and the time to take care, she was abandoned. As if being abandoned was not enough, the poor baby got into a car accident, poor Precious barely survived this double blow.
To date, we have not found a suitable human for her. Precious is now 9 years old and seriously in need of a responsible and loving family to take her in. Because Precious is an elderly dog, and of all the sufferings she has been through, she will need a family who is willing to give her more time and attention and who is prepared for her potentially, at times, costly medical bills, we hope that she is lucky enough to live a peaceful life filled with happiness the rest of her life.
Many would purchase or adopt a pure breed dog impulsively, and then just abandon the poor furkid when problems arise (whatever problem that maybe). Please do not adopt a furkid just because it’s a pure breed, it is a commitment of the animal’s lifetime, it is a life-long responsibility and it should come from your heart.

经过几天的努力，我们的义工与通知者合作，这只可怜宝贝终于在今天(25/7)救起。它是一只长毛混种犬。已经流浪在古来大街好一段日子了。 救援之后，给了个名叫Emma.我们稍微检查了它的身体。外观来看，是没有什么伤，只是尾部阴道部位有些溃烂，确认它是得了性病。性病是一个首尾长的医疗疗程。体内状况就还不能确认，有待医生检查。 阴道溃烂（性病），是通过不断的与不同的异性交配交叉感染而致。这些都是可以避免的疾病，除了避免放养式与来历不明的异性交配。最好的方法就是做结扎手术，这样就能避免因为生理需要而不断进行交配而感染此症。 目前它的医疗需要施打化疗针，一支化疗针费用非常昂贵（整百令吉）。疗程需要4支左右，药物和住院。还要加上基本的疫苗与结扎费，都是一笔可观的费用。需要大家的帮忙。

Finally, we rescued Emma today after few days follow up. She is long hair mixed breed dog and wandering on the street a period of time in Kulai. Her name is Emma. We found out she had a venereal disease problem. Other health problem needs to be confirmed by doctor after checkup. When dog get a venereal disease, a long term medical treatment will be needed. The disease comes from cross mating with different male dogs. It can prevent by neuter, sterilize and owner not allow dog hang around at outside. Meanwhile, Emma needs to do 4 time chemotherapy injection for whole medical process. Because of expensive chemotherapy injection (RM100+ per injection), we need your help support her medical expenses. Moreover is vaccination and sterilize medical fees for Emma.

Little attention is paid to the hygienic and veterinary care and genetic diseases due to inbreeding. In addition, most old dogs are simply abandoned when they no longer can be mass-producing machines.
Breeders are reaping huge profit by using these animals to breed and meet the demand of public who only seek for pedigree dogs.

It is time to make a stand. Put a stop to this abuse in the name of profit.

多数非法繁殖场里的狗终生都被禁锢在小笼子内，并被逼在不健康的生产率下生产，一年就得被逼生产好几次，这是极为危险及残酷的。
刚出生的小狗狗们在出世后不久就得和妈妈分离，繁殖场里完全罔顾基本的卫生及应该给于狗狗们的最基本医药护理，并无视各种由近亲交配所导致的基因疾病。
更加过分的，大多数上了年纪并不能再成为生育工具的狗狗就被随便的抛弃。繁殖贩子为了牟取大量的盈利及符合那些只爱名种狗的大众的需求,残酷的利用这些可怜的动物来为他们生产。

Every adoption saves a life.
Millions of stray pups come to this world every year.
Some were fortunate enough to survive, but most of the little ones die of starvation, diseases, physical abuse, accidents and most inhumanely, ended up in human’s stomach, before even get to see the humane side of the world.

By adopting, you can save lives and providing the animals with love and a place they call home.

• (Kindly scroll down for English write-up) 我们的流浪动物领养日来了!! 于2013年8月4号 (星期日) 上午10点至下午5点在位于希望护生园, 士古来五间店, 柔佛. 电话：012-716 7123 (Iris Leong) 流浪动物一直是被社会所忽略及漠视的一个庞大社会问题，而愿意面对，伸出援手及解决的民众是少之又少，加上无法从学校，父母甚至整个社会中学习对流浪动物的认识及帮助他们的正确方法，导致流浪动物的数量有增无减，而很遗憾的，马来西亚公民本身也缺乏为自己宠物结扎的意识，导致自己的宠物每每生下了孩子后，狗 主又无力照顾并不负责任的将其抛弃在街头，从而增加流浪动物的数量，这是一个恶性循环。 每一年都有上万的无辜小流浪动物们懵懂地来到这个世界上，一些侥幸的生存着，但是更多的他们在还没看见这个世界人性化的一面时就不幸的死亡了，其中原因包括饥饿，疾病，遭受虐待，车祸，而更过分残酷的是，被人吃下肚.. 此次活动的目的是为了 1. 帮助被拯救的小流浪动物们寻得永久家庭并摆脱流浪在外的悲惨命运并减少流浪狗数量，我们将在活动中带出10-15只小流浪动物们开放领养，义工们将为有意领养的公众进行简单的会谈面试，并评估其是否是一位适合的领养人。 2. 我们将积极宣传“以领养，代替购买”的意识，让更多人知道领养动物的好处。 3. 我们将宣传结扎意识，教育公众结扎宠物的重要性，希望大家能自发为自己的宠物甚至帮助街头的流浪狗狗结扎。 4. 我们将放置捐款箱于会场中以筹募资金帮助我们能为更多的流浪动物进行结扎手术。 “希望护生园流浪猫狗领养日”活动策划人及负责人嘉嘉阿姨指出:”新山普遍上的公众大多偏爱购买名种狗狗，我们也发现越来越多的非法宠物繁殖者在新山出现，这个现象让流浪动物的身份变得更卑微，许多人都对流浪动物的命运抱有一定程度的同情心，但是当他们想要拥有一只宠物时，却丝毫不考虑领养可怜的流浪动物，而选择购买名种狗。我们主办这次的活动也是为了扭转这个风气，提升流浪动物的地位，教育公众为什么要选择领养，期盼更多的人选择领养，抵制购买宠物。” 她也指出，由于收容所已经收留了超过1000只的流浪猫狗，小狗的数量也达到70只以上，资金不足及地方狭窄问题导致希望护生园团队能为流浪动物做的事非常非常有限。“每一次在街头看见一群群流浪着的小动物们就觉得异常心酸，他们并没有做错什么，却得每天承受种种的困难，努力的想要生存下去，但是收容所能力有限，往往都会有心有余而力不足的感觉。” 请新山的朋友们出席这项活动支持我们，为无法发声的一群努力争取更好的福利，也请大家帮助我们宣传这项活动，齐心合力，我们定能为流浪动物带来更好的明天! 计划想要养宠物吗? 领养宠物是找到您生命伴侣的最好方法。领养他们，给他们一个家吧! We, HOPE shelter will be having our outdoor adoption drive on the 4th August 2013, Sunday at HOPE Shelter, Lima Kedai, Johor. Time: 10.00am-5.00pm Tel No: 012-716 7123 (Iris Leong) Urban strays is a huge social problem that is always neglected by the society. There are only few of them from the society who are willing to lend a hand to help tackle this issue. Most of the people do not have the chance to understand stray animals and learn about what they can do to help the animals from school nor their parents/family and the society. This caused the strays’ number to increased non-stop. Regret to say that most Malaysian do not have the awareness to neuter their pets which leads to their pets to give birth to unwanted puppies/kittens. Irresponsible owner who do not want to take care of them will dump then on street. This is a vicious cycle in motion! There are thousands of innocent strays puppies/kittens born yearly, some survived but most of them die before they grow to know the world. Starvation, diseases, human abuse, road accident, ate by human… are just a few reasons to be named that had caused their death. The objectives of our Adoption Drive are: 1) To find a loving home for the strays puppies. We will be bringing around 15-20 puppies on that day for adoption. Our volunteers will conduct a simple interview with interested individual to screen for his/her ability to become a potential adopter. 2) To create awareness for adoption, rather than buy. When the buying stops, the selling stops! 3) To promote and educate the public about the importance of neutering. We hope to reach out to more family with pet to neuter their pet and sincerely hope that they can support us by neutering the strays in their neighborhood. 4) To raise fund for our Spay&Neuter Programme. We will use this fund to neuter the strays so that their population will not increase further. Hope Adoption Drive event organizer and person-in-charge, Jia Jia Auntie pointed that: “People in JB generally prefer to buy a pedigree dog, and we noted the increased number of illegal dog breeders in JB areas. This phenomenon makes the situation against survival of the strays as the public will not consider adopt a stray but to buy a pedigree dog. That is the reason why we are organizing this stray’s adoption event, to change this trend, to lift the status of strays, to educate public the reasons for adoption. We hope more people will adopt and not to buy a pet.” She also mentioned that currently the shelter is home to nearly 1000 homeless cats and dogs, the number of puppies also shoot up to more than 70. Insufficient fund and space in the shelter are already causing the HOPE’s rescue team to limit their help to save the strays. “It is heart breaking every time to see packs and packs of strays fend for themselves on the street. They are not doing anything wrong but to suffer all the difficulties and challenges everyday to survive. We are so bounded by our limited resources and we can't do more to help.” We wish friends in JB to attend this event to support us, to speak for the strays and stand up for them; You can help by spreading this news to your friends and family.
